Week #20
16th to 20th of January

A lot has happened this week. For a long time I wanted to receive feedback from all the practises that I’m posting here. After doing some research, I reached to a couple teachers online and finally got a class this week. It was the first time I had a specific feedback session. It gave me clarity in terms of what I want from the teacher, but also what else I can do. There were many lessons and I had so many thoughts on how to keep improving.
Also this week my plan was to focus on magazine layouts. Right now I’m doing an online course on editorial design with Lars Harmsen in Domestika, and I noticed how much I need to improve my research phase for projects like this. Is not a simple «take a picture, add text and make it aesthetic» thing. I was about to start a magazine project, but I had to slow down so that I learn the process in the proper way. So I will take time to buy some magazines and research a decent amount until I jump into making the magazine, even if it’s not a professional project.
I didn’t produce much this week, but at least I did this posters which I enjoyed. In a way I feel a bit unsettled if I don’t produce some type of work. And now that I’m just doing one hour a day, it’s harder to do everything that I want.
